How it works
Real databases. Structured analysis. Transparent methodology.
ResearchChecker combines live database queries across six major biomedical sources with advanced AI reasoning to produce evaluations grounded in real evidence. No hallucinated paper counts. No fake DOIs. Every number comes from a live API.
Step-by-step process
1. Describe your research idea
Enter your research question in plain language. The more specific you are (population, intervention, comparator, outcome, study type), the more precise the evaluation.
2. Parallel database search (2-3 seconds)
Your query is simultaneously sent to PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Europe PMC. All searches run in parallel. Key terms are automatically extracted for optimal matching.
3. AI-powered analysis (8-12 seconds)
Real database results (paper counts, article titles, trial registrations, DOI links) are analyzed by an AI research methodologist. No hallucinated counts; all numbers come from live APIs.
4. Structured intelligence report
You receive a comprehensive report with letter grades, strategic verdict, evidence landscape, gap analysis, PROSPERO check, similar literature with DOIs, feasibility assessment, and publishability estimate.

What each result section means
Novelty grade (A-F)
A+ = First or second of its kind. B+ = Done before but a different angle is possible or no recent review. C = Needs a different angle to be publishable. D = Saturated field. F = Done to death; do not pursue this framing.
Evidence landscape
Snapshot of current literature: existing RCTs, observational studies, systematic reviews, Cochrane reviews, ongoing trials, and preprints signaling upcoming saturation.
Gap analysis
Identifies five gap types: Population, Methodological, Outcome, Temporal, and Comparator. The most actionable section. Tells you exactly where opportunities exist.
Publishability estimate
Estimates target journal tier (high-impact, specialty, open-access), recommends specific journals, and identifies the study design that would best fill the identified gap.
PROSPERO registry check
Searches for existing registered systematic review protocols. Shows actual registrations found with clickable links, so you can verify competition directly.
Similar literature
Real papers from PubMed and Europe PMC with titles, authors, journals, years, and clickable DOI links. These are actual database results, not AI-generated citations.
